Transmission: Astramalleus Command

From: Norran Victos, Commander 4th Company Occupation Detachment
To: Leviah Milham, Commander Dalyth Expeditionary Force

[[REPORT FOLLOWS]]

I am glad to report that my first command has resulted in victory. The Drop Pod deployment went smoothly and all units involved landed more or less without incident. 10th Assault landed pincered between two enemy tanks and was incapacitated to the man. 2nd Tactical and 3rd/1st Terminator Team also took heavy casualties but few of the wounds inflicted upon any of the three squads will have long term consequences. They should all be fit for the next mission.

After landing in and around the transportation hub, we were set upon by several armored speeder tanks. Chaplain Reemes, leading the remaining active members of 10th Assault, bravely assaulted one of them and managed to keep it occupied and ineffective most of the engagement. A unit of battle suits soon joined the fray but they were driven off by the arrival of 3rd/1st Terminator under my personal command. 4th and 6th Tactical arrived soon after to occupy the hub and to provide support for Reemes bold maneuver. Our forces held and cleared enough landing ground to other forces to land and mop up.

I recommend commendation for Chaplain Reemes. His aggressive actions prevented the enemy from using their armor to greatest advantage, making our victory more certain.

I have also been investigating the transportation hub. Quite a bit of enemy cargo was captured and an inventory has been appended to this report. Something seems odd about it. There's far too much cargo here for a small planetary outpost. Also there was quite a bit of armor fielded against us. Armor, especially Speeder Armor, requires quite a bit of upkeep which, along with the cargo captured, makes me think that perhaps this outpost is larger than we previously expected. It is possible that luck was with us and this was a major hub defended as heavily as was possible by the garrison force but that is not an assumption I'm willing to make at this time.

We await our next mission. I recommend pushing along the transport lines and disrupting their flow of materiel. If they have any strength, they will soon counter attack here. They have begun bombarding our positions so I expect counter attack within the next 48 to 72 hours. It would be better to slow them down before they get here and buy time for reinforcements to arrive. I look forward to your arrival and thank you again for this opportunity to show my command abilities.

Hail to the Emperor and the Grand Satrap,

Norran Victos
