Well, it was a brutal game, but I managed to pull off victory for the Tau(Diasporex) for the second week of the Fly Lords' PreHeresy tourney, making it 1 Slaughter, 1 Win, 1 Loss. You may see me walking a bit funny, from all the anal rape I was experiencing, and I had to use every single trick in my arsenal to pull this off, but given that I was (1) robbed of my vehicles and most potent weapons, and (2) dealing with two opponents each chock full of special rules, and (3) the special rules of the scenario favored the Marines, it was a bit satisfying to use the Emperor's Children's special character's rule against him to end things while they still seemd to favor me a bit.
Guh.
Kill Team on Tuesday with the redoubtable Daniel, who has kindly informed me ahead of time of the mutables and special kit so that I can plan-- thanks, D!

Hey, btw, Mike-- what sort of tchotchkes do we get from GW for being an official club again? Just wanted to check on this.

I got to observe this battle. It was greuling, to say the least. Gordon used every trick in the Tau arsenal - including blowing up his own Shas'O - to pull a victory in this one.

Stuff from GW: right now if clubs host tables at GT, Games Days etc they get x number of free come in and host your table, where x is a function of the size of the board used for the event. Currently there is talk of freebies, grab bags, and awards for events that you run. Currently they are focusing on their events but they are working on other things, so we are told. This Club support, and kommando thing is in it's infancy so it remains to be seen what is going to come of it.

What does it mean to host a table? Does that mean we would be judges at a tournament? Or does it mean we would build a terrain table of our own for others to play on?
Judges at a Tourney mean you are a Kommando and are being paid via honorarium in GW Gift Certificates, which can be used at the forge world store at the the GT. Host a Table means you and your club build a table, bring it, and run a your game on it. Your table could be Necromunda Pit fights, chariot races, squig golf, trebuchet ring toss, full size adeptus areonautica, specialist games etc. I hope that clarifies things.
